November 5, 2025 – Inaugural ceremony of Joint Institute of Dalian Polytechnic University and Belarusian State Technological University was held in the city of Dalian, People’s Republic of China.
The milestone event marked the practical implementation of all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership of the two countries and showcased the dynamic broadening of cooperation in the field of education and culture.
The opening the Joint Institute followed top-level agreements on practical cooperation made between the universities.
The ceremony was attended by Ihar Voitau, Rector of Belarusian State Technological University and Elena Yanukovich, Head of Double-Degree Programmes and International Students Office. The Chinese party was represented by Li Changwu, President of Dalian Polytechnic University, An Quinda, Vice-President, Cheng Yuy, Director of the Joint Institute, teachers and students.? ?

The bilateral cooperation, which started in 2015, moved to a totally new level.? ? ?
This year’s intake of students amounted to 300 out of 2,400 potential applicants. The Joint Institute will train students in most promising areas that are crucially important for the economies of both countries: industrial machines and equipment, information systems and technologies, automation of technological processes and production.??
“The Joint Institute is not merely an educational project but a bridge of friendship and collaboration between two nations. The project aims at cultivating globally competitive, highly qualified professionals and reinforcing strategic bilateral partnership”, both parties noted.??
The teaching process will be conducted by both parties so as to ensure integration of Chinese and Belarusian high-quality teaching resources. Relevant BSTU staff will be responsible for almost half of all courses listed in the curriculum. Graduation projects will also be supervised jointly. Upon successful completion of the curriculum the graduates will be awarded two Bachelor degrees (Dalian Polytechnic University and Belarusian State Technological University) of their respective educational program.
BSTU Rector Ihar Voitau warmly addressed teachers and students of the Joint Institute: “I extend my cordial congratulations on the inauguration of this academic year and wish our joint efforts be rewarding, impactful and drive us to success!”?
The Joint Institute is a long-term educational and scientific project and is expected to run until December 2041. We hope the new bridge between two countries will promote high quality education and strengthen the existing bilateral friendship.?
